The Sleeping Creator

The Sleeping Creator holds an immense presence in a state of withdrawal, as though the force capable of shaping worlds has momentarily turned inward. Scale becomes psychological: the human figure appears fragile against something immeasurable, yet her movement gives the surrounding vastness a strange intimacy. She advances not toward an answer, but toward a silence.

The suspended landscape seems caught between formation and dissolution. Light gathers along the passage with the gravity of memory, offering direction without certainty. Around it, distance opens almost without limit, while the sleeping face remains inaccessible—serene, monumental, and profoundly absent. This tension between proximity and unknowability gives the work its quiet unease.

The title complicates the encounter. If the creator sleeps, does creation continue independently, or has the world itself become part of the dream? The solitary ascent may suggest awakening, return, or an approach toward something that cannot recognize those who seek it.

Yet the deepest uncertainty lies in who is dreaming whom. At the edge of that enormous stillness, the boundary between creator and creation begins to disappear.
