Across the Silence

Across the Silence unfolds within a vast interval between presence and distance, where separation feels less physical than existential. The composition holds its elements in a state of suspended relation: one realm appears dense with life, memory, and fragile beauty, while another remains remote, reduced to a solitary human presence surrounded by immeasurable darkness. What lies between them becomes the work’s most charged territory.

Light does not resolve this distance. Instead, it intensifies it. Emerging from darkness in restrained golden passages, it seems to carry the possibility of recognition without guaranteeing arrival. The monumental celestial form above creates a sense of order and permanence, yet its scale makes the human figure appear profoundly temporary. Against this immensity, silence acquires weight.

There is a tension between abundance and isolation, intimacy and the unreachable. The work suggests a moment in which something has already been lost—or perhaps has not yet been reached. Its stillness feels poised between remembrance and expectation.

Across the Silence ultimately leaves the distance intact. What remains uncertain is whether the two sides are separated by space, by time, or by something within the self that cannot easily be crossed.
